Too often we hear the definition of health described as "the absence of disease," but true health is much more than that. It is the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

The English word "health" comes from the Old English word hale, meaning "wholeness, a being whole, sound or well,". So to be truly healthy, a person must be sound in ALL aspects of their being, Mind, Body and Spirit!

Thank you for visiting our website!

We Wish you Peace

"The purpose of our lives is to be happy.

Happiness is not something ready made.

It comes from your own actions."

- His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

What's New at The Alcove???

Komyo Reiki Kai Shoden (first degree) Certified Practitioner Workshop

Two Consecutive Saturdays:

January 28th and February 4th

10 am to 5 pm (both days)

The word “Reiki” is derived from two Japanese words:

"Rei," or universal, and "Ki," or life energy.

Current Reiki practice can be traced to the spiritual teachings of Mikao Usui

in Japan during the early 20th century. Komyo Reiki presents Reiki as it was understood and commonly practiced in the 1930’s in Japan. This system places emphasis on spiritual unfoldment through the practice of Reiki Ryoho, aiming for “satori” or enlightenment.

Komyo Reiki is a “keep-it-simple” Reiki system and practice.

The practice motto is: “Put your hands, Surrender, and Smile.”

The more peace and balance we cultivate in our lives through Reiki practice, the more we directly experience what Mikao Usui called “the miraculous medicine of all diseases.”
